Data Engineer (Remote EU, 6-month contract)

The Position

Motivforce brings together a dedicated, award-winning team of highly experienced specialists in creative loyalty marketing, behavioural motivation and enablement research, and incentive travel and event production around the world. Motivforce is looking for more developer talents to join the team. This position will be working remotely.

The focus of this position will be:

We are looking for a SQL Server data engineer to join our team to assist in the migration of our legacy system into our new architecture. Working with our Database lead, the successful candidate would be responsible for migrating the existing processes, and rewriting and refactoring the legacy code to work with latest and updated processes using SQL Server and AWS.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Technical

Writing ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes and developing tools for real-time and offline analytic processing

Working with the database migration team to help define and refine the strategy for migrating existing databases

Automating build operations and functionality, to be delivered through in-house and third party tools in order to achieve uninterrupted DBMS Operations

Build data marts and data models to support clients and other internal customers

Integrate data from a variety of sources, assuring that the data adheres to quality and accessibility standards

Provide database best practices & standards, performance testing and research and development to application developers

Apply understanding of key business drivers to accomplish your own work

Use expertise, judgement and precedents to contribute to the resolution of moderately complex problems

Ideally, you will:

  • Be an expert in SQL Server

  • Have migration experience

  • Have AWS experience, especially with AWS Glue

  • Be able to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies and adapt to changes and demands in fast-paced, dynamic environment, including drawing conclusions and making decision from imperfect and disparate datasets

  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and produce quality results under pressure

  • Have strong analytical, strategic, decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Self-motivated

  • Team player

  • Have the desire to learn
